Our Damascus knife blade is the result of hours and hours of forging 9 layers of 1080 and 15N20 steel, folded 5 times giving approximately 288 Layers in this awesome Pattern.. Not many custom makers can keep such a ladder pattern of layers upon layers flowing all the way to the edge of the blade, which creates a saw-blade effect at the microscopic level, allowing the blade to keep cutting while other blades would have dulled. The blade was, also, given excellent heat treatment and possesses a very good edge holding and retention for relentless performance.
